Code School offers Interactive(you watch video tutorials) programming courses then put those into action with interactive coding challenges which are organized into paths based technology. They offer both free and paid courses.

With Khan Academy, you can learn programming for free. KA relies heavily on video. Courses are offered in different programming languages and you also learn at your own pace.

When starting a website, always remember to figure out the following before you start.

1. Content.
What is the site going to be about? Do you have all the material you need for it?

2. Age group.
What age group is your site being based for? All age groups like different things, so it might be a good idea to know this when making your site.

3. What are you using to make the site?
Alway decide ahead of time whether you plan on doing simple web pages, or using a CMS, as that will also affect how you set things up, and the content you will add to your site.

4. Be detailed.
One liners in all over the site is a major turn off. Make sure to use paragraphs when adding content. Be descriptive.

5. Keep it simple.
If you do not really understand something you want to add, wait until you learn more. Do not clutter the site up with useless stuff that you yourself don't like to see on sites.

6. Search Engine Submission:

If you want the reverse (example.com will be redirected to www.example.com) change "yoursite" to "www.yoursite" in the code above. In both places.

This might be useful for search engine page rankings not being divided between www and non-www domains
